Hot on the heels of Click Monday in New Zealand (or Click Frenzy in Australia), comes yet another two shopping events for bargain hunters: Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
Black Friday is observed each year on the Friday after Thanksgiving in USA (celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November).
Although it is originally a US phenomenon and it’s the biggest shopping day in America, Black Friday is now gaining popularity amongst Australian and New Zealand shoppers and retailers alike.
US retail stores operating in Australia like Amazon, Apple, J Crew, Nordstrom and Bloomingdales have introduced the concept of Black Friday in Australia and that is slowing having a flow-on effect through to New Zealand.
Australian retailers have responded in the past few years by offering their own special Black Friday Deals and more recently New Zealand counterparts have been starting to acknowledge it too. Anything to entice customers, right?
It may be a little confusing this year in New Zealand, as it was only a couple of weeks ago, we really did have a Friday 13th (or Black Friday). I notice The Warehouse has put their own spin on Black Friday, calling it Red Friday.
Either way, this makes Black Friday in New Zealand an important date for bargain hunting in both offline and online stores. Already we have women’s fashion stores like City Chic, K & K Fashion and The Iconic offering discounts.
You can keep notified of sales for women’s fashion at www.findingfashion.co.nz; where we update you daily on new discounts from New Zealand’s leading clothing retailers.
