Giant clothing brand Zara is dipping a toe in the New Zealand market, by agreeing to provide stock to a shop in Auckland.The Shop, in the Milford Centre, is advertising itself as exclusive stockists for the popular Spanish fashion brand from August 1.A spokesperson from the Milford Centre’s managers could not be contacted.But the move has fuelled speculation that a full store might not be far away. Top Shop moved into New Zealand, by first opening a concession store in fashion designer Karen Walker’s store The Department Store.Retail commentators have been predicting the arrival of other big brands. New Zealand has a small market but it is relatively under-represented by big global players.
